Cayenne Bors
It is a wild and cultivated perennial plant of Central American origin. Its name is misleading, because it is not a pepper variety, but a very pungent, pointed, red pepper variety grown in the tropics, one of the close relatives of the cherry peppers grown in Hungary as well. We have a small version of it known as sweet peppers. In many places, green peppers are used as we do. It has many varieties, known in shape, size and sharpness. The bush-shaped plant can grow up to 2 m in height. He lives for 2-3 years. The shape and size of the leaf are varied, similar to that of the pepper. Its flower is white, erect. The shape and size of the puffed berry are varied, approx. 2 cm in size, erect, mature brick red in color. The fruit itself is the chili, the dried, finely ground chili powder, the so-called cayenne. Its characteristics and content are similar to those of paprika, but the content of capsaicin is much higher, between 30,000 and 50,000 SHU.
